Finally got back in the gym today after two days out. I try not to take breaks from actually going to the gym, and rather have "active" rest, by still going to the gym and either having a cardio session or core workout if my body needs a rest from the weights. But due to other "life" stuff I had two days off, and it was good to get back in today.
Was a debate between quads and back, but I went with a back workout in the end. Felt pretty strong! Had to move the order around a bit, as it was busy and I did want to wait any longer for the equipment I wanted. I ended up doing dumbbell rows first, and hit 2 sets of 50kgs in the final two sets! So I was happy, maybe the break did me good. That's the first time I have rowed that weight!
I went on to do lat pull down, bent over row, straight arm pull down, V-grip pull down, hyper extensions and rear cable flye. I have been doing up to seven exercises on both back and chest for a while now, as I never want to leave an area of the muscle group. But have been debating splitting it up into lower/upper focus and having shorter workouts on these days so I can put them with the bi/tri workouts....I'm not sure, as I like having an arm day to focus, as I still get intense on arm day, and I can't imagine having to do my bi or tri workout after a back or chest session at the mo, as they are all quite high intensity. In the new year, when it's programme change time I will look at all the variable and see the route I wanna take for the next period.
I'm chat a bit about FST-7 training in a post soon, so check back to get the info! It's intense!
Keep up the training!
